Figure 1. Near synchronous complex partial seizure termination in mesial, basal and lateral temporal neocortex. Intracranial ictal recordings from selected contacts are illustrated from a 32-contact subdural grid overlying the lateral temporal neocortex (T1-T32), a subdural strip placed under the temporal lobe with the deepest contact (MT1) over mesial temporal structures (MT1-MT4) and a depth electrode (D1-D6) placed freehand perpendicular to and through the lateral temporal grid so that the deepest contacts (D1,2) were in the mesial structures. Additional frontal strips and grids were also present (not shown). The complex partial seizure in this patient began in mesial temporal structures and lasted 96 seconds. The last 6 seconds are shown here (one second time bars).
