Figure 2 Pattern of activity in an array of 240 by 240 neurons
with local neighbor-to-neighbor synaptic connections. A periodic pattern
of activity is observed throughout simulation when network is activated by
focus I. In the simulation with focus II the number of neurons responding
to inputs from focus varies in time resulting in less periodic pattern of
activity in the network. The right panels for each focus show enlarged 70
by 70 neuron array in the center.
